- Are vignetting in Serbia?
There are no traditional highway vignettes in Serbia. Motorways are payable, but the fees are not charged with vignettes, but are charged on the basis of a traveled section of the road.
The amount of the road fee in Serbia depends mainly on the length of the road section that was traveled. The longer the episode, the higher the fee. In addition, there are differences in fees depending on the vehicle category. In addition, additional factors such as the tourist season or special road circumstances can be taken into account.
- Vehicles that must pay a road fee
In Serbia, the road fee must be paid
All road userswho use highways. This applies to both passenger vehicles and trucks. This means that drivers of passenger cars, buses, trucks, motorcycles and other vehicles must pay road fees for using highways in Serbia.
Vehicle categorization is conducted based on the following features:- The number of axes,
- The height of the vehicle on the first axis, measured vertically from the surface,
- Total height of the vehicle,
- Vehicle mass
Category 1A - Motor vehicles with motorcycle features, three -wheeled motorcycles and quads
Category 1 - motor vehicles with two axles and a height equal to or less than 1.3 m, measured in the first axis,
- Delivery cars with two axles and a total height equal to or less than 1.9 m, with a maximum permissible weight of up to 3500 kg
Category 2 - motor vehicles with two axles and a height equal to or less than 1.3 m measured on the first axis,
- with camping trailers with two axles and a total height equal to or less than 1.9 m, with a maximum permissible weight of up to 3500 kg
- with camping trailers with two axles and an total height of over 1.9 m, with an acceptable total weight of up to 3500 kg
Category 3 - Motor vehicles with two or three axles, above 1.3 m measured on the first axis, with a permissible total weight above 3500 kg.
- Car vehicles with two axles and a total height above 1.9 m, with a maximum permissible weight of up to 3500 kg.
- Two -axle vans with a total height above 1.9 MI MI allowable total weight up to 3500 kg with a trailer
Category 4 - Motor vehicles with four or more axles (including trailers axes) with a height above 1.3 m measured in the first axis and maximum permissible mass above 3500 kg
- Exemptions from road fees
- Disabled people have the right to use the highway for free.
- Transport of persons or material goods within national or international humanitarian aid programs is also exempt from road fees.
The holder of the permit for a free ride on the highway is required to download from the distributor issuing the Magnetic Card card at the entrance to the highway, and at the exit from the highway, transfer it to the collector for inspection together with the permit for free travel.

Exemption from the fee - application- The amount and ways of road fees
You can pay the travel fee by cash or credit card / debit card at any of the highway exit. People regularly traveling by highways can use electronic toll collection.
There is no uniform price here for all sections of the highways, but it can be approximately assumed that in the case of category 1 for each 100 km it costs about PLN 9.90.

The Serbian highway network is about 1,400 km long, most of which are subject to road charges, except for the A3 motorway, which runs through the center of Belgrade. The most important paid highways in Serbia include The A1 motorway, connecting Belgrade with the border with Croatian and the A2 motorway, leading from Belgrade to the south of the country towards North Macedonia. Information on seats for not paying a road fee in Serbia may be a variable issue, depending on the provisions and the policy of enforcement of law at a given time. Mandates for not paying a road fee can be from several dozen to several hundred euros, depending on the circumstances. Therefore, it is always recommended to follow the provisions on road fees to avoid legal consequences.
- Fines for other offenses
If the speed of 10 or 50 km/h is exceeded while driving on Serbian roads, you will receive a fine of 5,000 dinars, the same rate also applies to incorrect parking. Officers can issue a much more penalty for exceeding the permissible level of alcohol in the blood by 0.5-1 ‰, in such a situation it can range from 6,000 to 20,000 dinars.

The following speed limits apply in Serbia:- up to 50 km/HW built -in areas;
- up to 80 km/h outside the built -up area;
- up to 100 km/h on express roads (80 km/h with a trailer);
- up to 120 km/h on highways (80 km/Hz with a trailer).
- Car equipment
The mandatory equipment of the vehicle in Serbia includes:- Warning triangle: It must be stored in the vehicle and used in the event of a failure or stopping on the road.
- Reflective vest: at least one reflective vest must be stored in the vehicle and used by the driver if you stop on the road outside the built -up area at night or in conditions of limited visibility.
